Jonathan Scarpari conceives each work as a small revolution: he pursues the free and original men’s fashion undressed of any convention. He dresses skirts, reveals the skin with transparencies, and wraps up his own dreams with inventive modeling pieces, often covered with textures that weave memories.
With a peasant background, he was born in 1984, inland Santa Catarina. Amid the rice crops and the grape vineyards, Jonathan made from the contact with the soil his definitive inspiration. The patience required for sowing the plantation has, however, been channeled to the needlework. His particular way of talking about modern men and old times men. After studying agronomy and chemistry, he stepped permanently into the fashion world and soon made his debut on the catwalk of Entremeios – a local project that reveals new talents – as well as in the Casa dos Criadores, in São Paulo. Nowadays, he creates geometrical collections with precise fashion cuts that work as protection to people who want to mess with the world and step into new lands.
The stylist’s interest in producing has never disregarded his caring tone: when he creates his pieces, he softens his technique with short narratives about the love stories experienced, places from the past and current wishes. Jonathan Scarpari takes menswear out of the common place and placates an insistent rush of living. Little by little he makes a revolution creating fashion capable of opening up people’s eyes.
